I am an atheist - for me there is no God, for you there may be. My atheism comes from nihilism, I cannot find conclusive evidence for the existence of any objective reality. I do not, however, subscribe to the political doctrine of antitheism. I am a skeptic in the authentic sense of one who examines and questions everything, not a polemicist. I favour the many-worlds interpretation of quantum mechanics.
“Everything we call real is made of things that cannot be regarded as real” Niels Bohr
“There are no facts, only interpretations” Friedrich Nietzsche
“I shall not commit the fashionable stupidity of regarding everything I cannot explain as a fraud” Carl Gustav Jung
Clearly modern Christians aren’t upholding rules against eating shellfish, and calling for the murder of betrothed women who are found not to be virgins. Why should they, is not Christianity about the life, teachings and supposed divinity of Jesus Christ? What do pre-Christian traditions have to do with those things?
#atheism #nihilism @rickygervais @RichardDawkins @stephenfry @billmaher Taking the conventional definition of atheism as the position that God or gods certainly do not exist, the only true #atheist is also a nihilist. If one accepts that objective truth exists, then it is impossible to define with certainty the nature of that truth, it becomes a matter of opinion no matter how strongly the opinion is held.
The laws of Thermodynamics are in actuality the Law of Conservation of Mass Energy put into practice. These laws are a big reason why almost anything works. They are quite easy to state and explain though, despite how important they are.
Thermodynamics in essence deals with the relationship…
